About Red Alert Movie
Each year, nearly 300,000 hysterectomies in the United States have been directly connected to uterine fibroids. Sometimes coupled with endometriosis, another gynecological phenomenon, these illnesses can cause major lifestyle issues for all women - especially women of color.
Red Alert: The Fight Against Fibroids is a documentary that will examine the research, potential causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of fibroids and endometriosis from the real-women's perspective. A subject often overlooked in the medical and drug industry, this is an unprecedented approach by filmmaker Erica Taylor, who will also share her story of pain, hope and promise.
While approximately 70% of all women have fibroids, 80% of all African-American and Hispanic women suffer from the symptoms of these illnesses, and continue to operate in their hectic lives, despite their monthly and daily ailments.
Backed by medical research from accredited sources, Red Alert: The Fight Against Fibroids will present the latest in technological research and ask the questions no one’s asking about these diseases that so many women face. These are stories of life that are happening right now in America to women who deserve happiness, fulfillment, peace, motherhood and a voice. No more suffering in silence.
